Jan Marini products and glycolic skin peels
Jan Marini products have been developed and medically researched
by American dermatologist Jan Marini. The products can be used at home
as stand alone products or with a course of peels.
The peels and cosmeceutical products can help resolve acne and scarring, uneven pigmentation, ageing and sun damage, open pores and coarse skin texture.
Prior to a peel, a glycolic product must be used at home for 2 weeks to prepare the skin. Following consultation a suitable product will be recommended.
The initial peel is a 40% glycolic peel, a mild peel. You will gradually build up to a 70% glycolic peel which is a mild to moderate peel. A peel is a half hour procedure with no recovery period. A course of 6 peels over 2-3 months is recommended. Sun protection should always be applied following a peel.
A glycolic peel will remove debris and dead skin cells from the very top layer of the skin. On a deeper level, the glycolic will stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Simply defined, the term "proteolytic" refers to an enzymatic reaction that can digest dead or diseased protein material without harming living healthy cells.
